Elevate New York Welcomes New Staff

After 10 years, Kevin Singleton is stepping down as the Executive Director of Elevate New York. As Founder of the organization, he will continue to support Elevate in a development capacity as well as actively engaged in mentoring youth.

Gilda Gomez has been chosen to lead Elevate New York as Executive Director. Gilda joined ENY in July of 2019 as the Operations Manager and served in a leadership role for the past six months, most recently as the Deputy Executive Director. Her strategic involvement in programming, operations and development have positioned ENY well to grow and prosper for the benefit of the youth and families we serve.

This month we also welcomed two new staff members.

Kara King joins Elevate New York as our Director of Development. Kara holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University and a Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern University. Prior to joining Elevate’s team she worked with international, national, and regional nonprofit organizations in fundraising, special events, and development management.

Romaine Kelly joins as a Teacher Mentor. Romaine graduated from Temple University's Fox School of Business with a BBA in Economics. After serving two years with Americorps City Year, DC and NY respectively, she remained committed to youth development. She has over 10 years of experience working with youth from underserved communities, 7 years serving youth in her hometown of Bronx, NY.
